How to Create the Smoky Eye Look

The smoky eye may be a bit too dramatic for everyday wear, but for evening it is perfect.

Smoky eyes are attractive and mysterious, and the look can be achieved very easily, if you follow the right steps.

The first thing you will need to do is gather together the cosmetic products required for this look. Although you can get creative, the basic tools you will need are a black eyeliner pencil, white highlighter pencil, silver eyeshadow, dark grey eyeshadow, and black mascara.

You want to start by applying the highlighter pencil directly underneath the eyebrow near the end, right on the brow bone. Shimmery shadows work best here, and will give the nicest effect.

Use a silver eyeshadow on the lid and then apply the dark grey shadow into the crease area. This adds depth to the eye and helps to define it.

Now you want to line the eye with the black eyeliner, from the corner of the eye all the way to the outer edge, drawing the line upwards a bit towards the outer part of the lid. Smudge the eyeliner to give it a softer look and blend into the shadow.

Remember that you want to keep the rest of your makeup neutral because the smoky eyes are already dramatic enough and this is what you want people to focus on.
