Michelle Obama's Trendy Wardrobe

As a woman who is running for vice president of the United States of America, you would think Michelle Obama would be donning the likes of Gucci and Prada, but instead this trendsetter shows us that you can make a worldwide impression in a great way, and without spending a fortune.

Sure, the hopeful First Lady takes some styles from the runway, but she always is frugal and really personalizes ensembles and makes them her own.

Take her June 18, 2008 appearance on The View, for which she sported a $148 dress from clothing retailer White House/Black Market. As a result they reported a significant jump in the sales of the dress at several of their stores.

She also enjoys the looks of Thakoon, as she has flaunted the designer twice at campaign events.

Although fashion should obviously be the farthest thing from American's minds when they go to vote, it is still nice to see that a woman who has so many other things to worry about right now can still take pride in her clothing and knows how to save a bundle.
