Skin Cancer Guide

We all hear about how many different things can cause skin cancer, but in reality, hardly any of us actually think that it could ever happen to us.

The fact is, skin cancer is more common now than ever before, and there are more causes than you are probably aware of.

There are a few different types of skin cancer that a person can develop, one of the most common being melanoma, typically caused by excessive amounts of sunlight.

Melanoma is a very serious form of skin cancer, one that can actually be deadly if it is not caught and treated early enough.

Women often develop it on their lower legs, but for both women and men, it can occur anywhere on the body.

Although almost anyone can develop this form of skin cancer, there are certain people who are more at risk than others, and people with the following characteristics have the highest risk for melanoma:

To ensure that you avoid developing melanoma in the first place or to at least make sure that it is caught early if you do develop the disease, make sure that you get in to see your doctor regularly, especially if you notice any unusual marks such as moles or patches on the skin that were not there before.

Most importantly of all, to protect your skin from the harsh UV rays of the sun, make sure that you have proper skin protection on at all times, meaning wear sunscreen with a minimum of 15 SPF.
