Tis the Season for Change

It is the season for change, and what better way to do this than with a quick snip of the scissors?

Freshen up this fall and winter with a trendy new haircut, and just remember that no matter what hair style you choose, the bangs are going to be the highest maintenance part.

If you are able to keep up with this it should not be a problem, but if you tend to find it difficult to make it back to your hair stylist you may want to skip the bangs.

A chic set of thick bangs can give your face instant definition and take years off your face. They work best on straight hair with a normal to thick texture, and would be too frizzy and wild on curly locks.

Layers are back in style, and just make sure that you get softer face-framing layers, as the blunt, razored front layers are not the trend anymore.

The mushroom bob has become quite popular and is a great fashion statement for the upcoming season.

It only works on certain hair types however, so you need to be careful. It works best on hair types that are medium to light weight, and can be difficult to maintain with curly hair.

No matter what cut you opt for, the most important step in your styling regime is going to be using a serum, which will help control frizz and boost shine. Try Kérastase Oléo Serum, $34, at Fred Segal Beauty.

So it is certainly all about the bangs this fall and winter, but this doesn't need to be your only option.

If you are unsure if bangs are for you, talk to your stylist and get them to give you face-framing layers and maybe some side-swept bangs, so you can try the look out but if you don't think they work, just pin the bangs over to the side until they grow out.

What do you think of the mushroom bob? Think you could work it?
